For faster (same-day!) permitting, eligible residential energy projects should be submitted through the City of Pinole’s Instant Permitting for Residential Energy Projects portal (https://www.pinole.gov/instant-permitting-for-residential-energy-projects/), which provides instant plan review approval and a simplified, fully online process for qualifying projects.

Please do not apply in e-TRAKiT for the following permit types if they qualify for Instant Permitting: EV chargers, service panel upgrades/replacements, residential reroofs, rooftop solar/battery storage, water distribution lines, water main lines, and eligible HVAC and water heater replacements (gas-to-electric and electric-to-electric).

Gas-to-gas (like-for-like) residential HVAC and water heater replacements must be submitted through the City’s standard permitting process (e-TRAKiT) using the Residential gas furnace change-out or Residential gas water heater change out permit types.
